San Marco Mountain Tips – Cima San Mauro Feltre
Spring is the ideal time to walk on the path that leads to Cima San Mauro in the Feltre alps. In this period of the year, in addition to enjoying the spectacular panoramas of the Belluno Dolomites, you can also admire the splendid spontaneous blooms. The meadows are filled with color thanks to the white and lilac crocuses, yellow brooms, blue gentias, fuchsia rhododendros and thousand other flowers. The starting point of the excursion is in the hamlet of Arson di Feltre, from the small car park near a fountain, after the cottages of Mutten. In the company of Elena De Faveri (@elena_peacock_) we set off towards the little church of San Mauro and, continuing on the same route, in a northerly direction, we continue towards Forcella di San Mauro. Arrived at a crossroads, turn left onto the path that leads to the top. The route passes grazing the overhanging rocks, where there are aqueduct outlets. After a flat stretch, it crosses a grassy valley uphill. Having reached the ridge in view of the Valle di Canzoi, we continue to the left along a track that goes beyond the promontory, through some hairpin bends and easy passages on rocks. The path then descends, skirting the grassy slope on a slight slope. With a last uphill stretch you reach the ridge and the summit at an altitude of 1836 metres. The itinerary has a medium difficulty and is suitable for trained trekkers. On this excursion we used the Civetta boots by San Marco. They support the ankle with agility even on rough terrain. The ortholite sole and the shock-absorbing system cushion walking, improving comfort. Thanks to the breathable membrane, the foot always remains in the best conditions even when spring temperatures begin to rise.
